lyrics
Amaretto and coke,
O! what your spirit can evoke,
What wild a couple to combine,
There’s none more redolent than thine,
A blend of blissful, balanced parts,
Of both the wisdom and the heart,
No matter what the days provoke,
Amaretto and coke.
No there’s no finer an elixir,
Should my red lips wish to swallow,
For they form a hexing figure,
With the traits of young Apollo.
Of amber and of ice,
Both vigorous and fragile,
In a union too precise,
She is she and I am Daniel.
Amaretto and coke,
O! what your spirit can evoke,
What wild a couple to combine,
There’s none more redolent than thine,
A blend of blissful, balanced parts,
Of both the wisdom and the heart,
No matter what the days provoke,
Amaretto and coke.
In the dark hues of the night,
All else now is but the swill,
Of her beauty then I’ll write,
All the days I’m living still.
Every cheek is red in flush,
To a cherub-like degree,
And the atmosphere is hush,
For a glance I share with thee.
Amaretto and coke,
O! what your spirit can evoke,
What wild a couple to combine,
There’s none more redolent than thine,
A blend of blissful, balanced parts,
Of both the wisdom and the heart,
No matter what the days provoke,
Amaretto and coke.
Every early sunrise,
We’ve here no need of bitters,
As in forgone lullabies,
A fascination glitters.
Of the blackest red and auburn,
Let my cup now runneth o’re me,
And with every time the winds turn,
Be it known that I adore thee.
Amaretto and coke,
O! what your spirit can evoke,
What wild a couple to combine,
There’s none more redolent than thine,
A blend of blissful, balanced parts,
Of both the wisdom and the heart,
No matter what the days provoke,
Amaretto and coke.

What a fantastic album! I've only listened to the full record once so far, but man, this is going to be on steady play for me for awhile. Lyrics are worth savoring, arrangements are engaging and varied, and the vocals just hit that auditory groovy spot. Favorite song is going to change with each listen, so I'll start with the first track. Russ Isabella

Ancient Shapes is my favourite iteration of DR. Another collection of great tunes to set on repeat, as to be expected at this point. Nicolette Hoang's velvety vocals are the finishing touch on this pitch-perfect update on outlaw country with a touch of 60s glam. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 27, 2024
